well well well...It all started after we won test series vs WI comprehensively at home..The expectations was sky high again on the team which lost 0-4 to ENG just 3 months before..Everyone thought the ENG series was just a bad dream or passing cloud in Indian Cricketing history but it was not supposed to be after watching first 2 tests of Border-Gavasker trophy..
Everyone were so excited for AUS tour.there was more than 200 comments in cricinfo for warm-up matches.
I was also waiting eagerly for this series.I kept updating count down days for series in communicator note..
AS BOXING DAY ARRIVED,got up at 5:00 to watch one of the most awaited test series..Rain turned fortunes for us as couple of wickets went in quick succession after rain resumption..V had rare good chance to start the over-series tour on winning note...All the news channels and newspapers were not sure which way the test was going they kept saying the test is in balance after 3 day's of play.. Melbourne Cricket Ground(MCG) was set for fourth day everyone knew this could be last day of test..India began positively to chase the score but the second session turned the fortunes in AUS side..As wickets kept falling,the hopes of winning dissolved like the dissolving salt in water..Finally when v lost the test,one bad session cost us the test match..Frankly speaking we fought with lion heart but the result did not come our way..
Many fans like me thought we will win at SCG.But on the flat track getting all out at 191 was embarrassing.They were reeling at 27/3 again the hopes aroused in our hearts that v could get first innings lead..BUT ponting and clarke played superbly..dominating our bowlers ball by ball,over by over,session by session finally the day by day..The gap between two teams widened like gap between earth and sky after 3 days..Clarke's 329* was monumental in AUS big score..still many INDIAN fans felt we could play 2 whole days and draw the test but it was not supposed to be.the fate had other ideas v lost again..
Our batting overseas is a concern.. Overseas we are not scoring runs consistently.we need to score 400 consistently to win overseas..As PERTH awaits for the third test..Hope boys apply themselves at crease and score many many runs..we need runs on the board to put opponents under pressure..There will be some harsh decisions taken after the test series if we donot draw the series..We INDIANs are still hopeful of turning the tables..
